Increasing prices of Bananas in Myanmar

As the month of June came to an end, the price of Myanmar banana increased from MMK 900 to MMK 1200 per brunch. The increase in price is due to the growing demand and consumption of the local people. During the COVID-19 lockdown period and travel restriction, bananas that were grown in Sagaing and Mandalay region the country could not be delivered to the Yangon market. Banana growers are optimistic and expecting that prices will further increase up to MMK 1500 per brunch in July and August.
