British Columbia's spot prawn season kicked off today and is expected to run for about a month. Locally the first weekend is very busy and demand for the product is high. This year is expected to be the same as the season was delayed by one month due to COVID concerns. The harvest is expected to be large but uncertainty remains about the global demand and it could be a buyer's market for the delicacy.
