Demand for pasta and other goods skyrocket as Turkish consumers rush to stores

Covid 19 outbreak has caused a panic among Turkish consumers, leading them to rush to the supermarkets to stockpile goods with fear of shortages of supply in the near future.

Pasta emerged as the most common purchase item and is responsible for 25 % of the current market growth by itself. Pasta is followed by vinegar which is used extensively as a disinfectant at homes in this period.

Lentils, beans, chickpea, sunflower oil and frozen goods were other goods which were stockpiled by the consumers during this period.
