With imports from the US dropping significantly and increasing demand for chicken paws and chicken feet, Australia can benefit from exporting chicken paws to the Asian markets. Chicken paw is not consumed locally in Australia, so this Asian market presents a good opportunity to generate additional revenue for chicken exporters.
Just based on one trader, for example, will increase the exports roughly 10,000 kilograms - around 150,000 chicken feet - each week to customers in Hong Kong and Singapore.

The entry into this new market has been assisted by a State Government grant under the Value Add Agribusiness Investment Attraction Fund, providing $200,000 towards the $600,000 expansion needed.
