Potato, onion and garlic prices rise in Turkey

With the Covid19 outbreak, consumers prefer to stay home and shop less which dramatically decreased the demand for onion and potatoes. Consequently, the retailers try to make up for their lost revenue by increasing their mark-up which rose the prices of onions and potatoes from 0.25 USD to 0.8 USD per kg.

The price of garlic has also increased significantly due to high-demand as many consumers increased their garlic consumption due to its presumed health benefits. Garlic price has reached 10 USD per kg recently.
