Amid the slowing down of coffee beans export in general in the first half of 2020, the Indonesian Luwak coffee beans industry was still able to accommodate the demand for this premium-quality coffee bean variety from overseas buyers. On average, the Indonesian Luwak coffee bean exporters exported around 1MT/month worth of coffee beans to the regular importing countries such as China and Hong Kong. Unlike last year where most of the exported coffee beans were still in the form of green beans, most of the product this year has been exported in the form of roasted beans, which enabled the exporters to sell their product at a higher price (around IDR 400.000-450.000/Kg), while also being able to introduce a different roasting method that affects the taste of the coffee beans.
