The sweet cherry harvest is underway in the Salihli district of Manisa which is a very well-known production region in Turkey for sweet cherry. The size of the products is around 30-32 mm this season compared to the previous year's 26-28 mm.

The growers are looking to utilize this increased production quality along with the production decline in Spain and Italy due to the Covid19 outbreak in order to increase their market share in export markets. Germany is the main export destination for sweet cherries from Salihli. The exporters have also started to increase their export volume to Norway, Finland and Denmark.
