Despite global logistics difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Iran has managed to export over 37,6 MT of saffron during Q1 of the current fiscal year (20th Mar - 20th June). The main export destination was Hong Kong with over 12 MT of exports followed by Spain with 9 MT and UAE with 485 kg. Last year the country has produced around 500 MT of saffron and exported around 80% of the total production.
