Turkey's hazelnut exports have reached 1.7 billion USD from the start of the season in September 2019 until mid-April. The export volume was 260 kmt in this period. In total, Turkish hazelnut exports increased by 50% in export value.

Exports have not slowed down even by the Covid19 outbreak with the export volume being 53% higher in March 2020 compared to the same month of the previous year despite the chocolate industry experiencing a contraction due to the coronavirus and the chocolate consumption going down by 15% due to the shutdown of restaurants and coffee shops.
