The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Potato Growers Association has criticized their government for not assisting the potato growers in selling their products as the Covid19 outbreak caused the domestic potato consumption to drop from 1.2 kmt to 700 tons per month.

The potato production cost per kg is 0.34 USD however with the declining demand and newly arriving harvest products creating excess supply, the wholesalers are reportedly offering only 0.22 USD per kg to potato growers.
