The egg farmers in Blitar regency in the East Java province is experiencing an all-time low for the price of their chicken eggs. The price of chicken eggs has been decreasing tremendously in the past two weeks. They are now sold at IDR 10.000/Kg, in comparison to the highest average price in April at IDR 17.000/Kg. The price decrease is mainly contributed to the surplus of eggs in the market following the social distancing protocol in the province that was released in early May 2020, which has affected the demand heavily as people have not been able to go to the market as freely.
