Bulgarian beekeepers paint a hopeless picture and are expecting low honey production yield this year.
The main negative impacts are said to be coming from unfavorable weather conditions caused by heavy rainfalls and diseases in bees.
Farmers mainly complain about the fact that the production yield of acacia honey has been the lowest, in particular. The reason for the low yield is explained by bee poisonings and weakened bee families which become unproductive.
There have been cases with dead bees found in various fields believed to be caused by pesticides applied to crops.
