Oversupply of chicken meat in Myanmar leads to decrease in price

Myanmar government has allowed the entry of foreign companies into the domestic poultry breeding industry 3 years ago. These large companies are expanding their chicken farms and maximizing their production in a short period. This causes the oversupply of chicken meat in the local market and the price keeps decreasing. In 2019, the price of chicken meat was MMK 2800 per viss while it is only MMK 2000 per viss in 2020.
