Between May 2019 and March 2020, Paraguay exported 3.063.166 tonnes of maize to the international market. That represents a 91% increase compared to the same period in the previous year, when the country exported 1.671.301 tonnes. The main buyer is still Brazil, with 49%, followed by South Korea with 19% and Uruguay with 7%,, but other countries such as the United States, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Dominican Republic, Tunisia and Egypt are also part of the clients for Paraguayan maize.
