The heavy rainfall in February and early March has helped Indonesian mushroom farmers in East Java and Bali to significantly increase their overall production volume on a daily basis. The abundance of rainwater has made their crops grow rapidly and over the past weeks, this weather has enabled these farmers to harvest around 25-30 Kg/day, compared to the summer months where they can only produce around 5-10 Kg of mushroom daily. Moreover, the increase in the supply has also helped these farmers in particular and the national market: the retail price of this commodity has decreased from around IDR 30.000-35.000/Kg to around IDR 15.000-20.000/Kg, which is more affordable for the national consumers.
