Clams are farmed by transferring juvenile clams to the ocean. The transferred clams should be within intertidal areas with clear water, high salinity and good circulation. The clams are placed in trays, cages, enclosure or a combination of either with or without substrates. This helps in ensuring safety and less fouling of cages. It also ensures less severe predation on clams and easier access for farm management by humans. The fora cage size of 1 x 5 x 0.3m can approximately stock 100 juveniles (30-40 mm) and it can only stock a few big clams.
