In an effort to help foodservice manufacturers more quickly get their products onto retail shelves, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is being more flexible on labeling requirements. Due to COVID 19, foodservice demand has been severely limited with restaurant closures and little tourism and hotel demand. Retail labeling in Canada has significantly more requirements than food service labeling, but the regulatory body has softened requirements to make it easier for manufacturers to get products onto grocery store shelves.
