The litchi produce of in China has increased and due to favourable weather conditions, this year's crop in China began harvesting about 15 days earlier than usual. The harvest season is expected to last about 2 months more and will come to an end around early July. 50% of litchi in Vietnam is produced and consumed domestically whereas 50% is exported mainly to China. Thus, the lichi produce of Vietnam will face difficulties in finding a market. As domestic production in China has surged, it will reduce imports of litchi from Vietnam. Japan has agreed to import fresh litchi from the beginning of 2020 produce but due to the impact of the COVID-19 disease, has been delayed from both ends.
