Wholesale vegetable and fruit prices are rising in Moroccan markets

At the fruit and vegetable wholesaler market in Casablanca, the price of fruit and vegetables has increased significantly.
Wholesalers claim that the prices raised for the vegetables that are most in-demand by customers, a trend that is likely to continue until the next Ramadan.
The price of onions has increased from 1.50 dirhams to 5 dirhams or even 6 dirhams so as for tomatoes, the price of a box which was established at 40 dirhams, is now negotiated up to 150 dirhams.
Peppers are also affected: previously traded for 2.50 dirhams per kg, their price is currently set at 7 dirhams.
