The emergence of Ranu Pani regency as the producer of potato in East Java, Indonesia

To further strengthen the position of the East Java province as the leading producer of potato products in Indonesia, the local agency of agriculture has partnered up with several companies in the province to open up a new 1.5 Kha plantation estate in Ranupani regency. Aside from the availability of lands, this regency was also chosen for its high vegetation and climate that is suitable for the production of potato. This plantation estate has begun the early stage of the plantation process and is also open for the researchers from the local university to conduct their research on. It is projected that this new plantation estate would be able to produce around 14 MT/hectare by early 2021 to support the supply of potato nationally and to accommodate the possibility for export.
