Tanzania finally exports fresh produce to Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic

In collaboration with the private sector, the government of Tanzania has worked to facilitate exports of fresh produce to Europe through Liechtenstein during the ongoing hard times of COVID-19 pandemic where transportation was challenging.

Scheduled to fly 3 times a week, the government, Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) and the Kilimanjaro Airport Development Company Limited (KADCO) have organized a flight which first took off to Liechtenstein on April 9th 2020 carrying 37 MT of horticultural products. The flight will also be used to import packaging materials for exporters very time is heads back to the country.
