Following the end of the import ban of the crude palm oil (CPO) and palm oil-based products from Malaysia by the Indian government as the trade tension between the two countries cooled off, it is expected that the market share of Indonesian palm oil products in India will be decreased. Previously, especially in the first quarter of 2020, Indonesian CPO and CPO-based products experienced a staggering demand from India - almost doubled the volume compared to the same period in the previous year, - as the government of India applied an embargo to Malaysian manufacturers. And now, with the embargo lifted, it would mean that some Indian importers would be able to continue that existing partnership with the Malaysian exporters in the souring of CPO and its by-products.
