In Vietnam, the annual average output of dried cinnamon bark and leaves is 20,000 metric tons and 65,000 metric tons, with a value of USD 19.1 million and USD 5.5 million, respectively. From 2016 to 2018, Yen Bai was the largest cinnamon growing province in the country with about 68,569 hectares of cinnamon cultivated area. 2020 is expected to be a booming year for cinnamon production in Yen Bai with the increase of cinnamon acreage in recent years to 76,000 hectares. The production of cinnamon essential oil and bark is expected to increase by 20% compared to 2019.
