This is the peak harvesting season for cashew nut and farmers across West Africa are unable to carry out operations due to shortage of farm labor, closure of processing units and wholesale markets.This has resulted in crashing of prices of cashew nut. However, producers are optimistic that cashew exports will surge in the latter half of the year once the COVID-19 pandemic is contained.
