Myanmar introduces contract farming for maize, but the system is still in its early process

In the recent year, 2018 - 2020, the agriculture department of Myanmar has introduced contract farming among exporters, agriculture researchers, and growers to improve the production of maize. As the contract farming system is still in the early stage, the technology and practice do not fix well with the region's soil and weather. Hence, the production maize of 2020 is lower than one year ago. The market wholesale price increases from MMK 7,200 to MMK 8,500.
