Milkfish farming has been and will remain the backbone of Philippine aquaculture mainly because of the average milkfish annual production since 1990, which is 206,840 mt valued at over 10 billion PHP. Almost all households in the country have milkfish on their tables and would prefer the product to other fish. Milkfish is not difficult to farm as it is very abundant because of the archipelagic state of the country. Even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, suppliers are continuously exporting milkfish all around the world, and production is not a problem.
