A recent trade fair in Germany was used as a marketing platform for a number of fruit suppliers from Indonesia to promote their organic fruit chips to local German buyers. These manufacturers source their fresh fruits from smallholder farmers in Central Java and process them into organic fruit chips such as salak and jackfruit chips.
The organic fruit chips have attracted the local buyers from Germany to start importing these products as the products are considered to pesticide-free. As an early stage of the deal between the suppliers and the buyers, the Indonesian suppliers will start exporting 2 MT of fruit chips in April 2020.
