Ukrainian sunflower oil high in demand in Malaysia and other Asian countries

There is an increasing demand for sunflower oil imported from Ukraine especially in Asian countries including Malaysia, as more and more people are now opting for healthier foods. In January-November 2019, exports of Ukrainian sunflower oil to Malaysia amounted to 72.4 thousand tonnes, with a total cost of US $ 54.5 million. Compared to the same period of 2018, exports of sunflower oil to Malaysia grew by 105.4%. It is expected that it will increase by 2020 and into the year ahead. Sunflower oil is becoming more and more desirable because it can help strengthen the immune system, is rich in antioxidants, and contains the protein needed for health.
