Turkey fresh fruit and vegetable exports have increased by 20% in the first 5 months of 2020

Turkey has benefitted from the Covid19 outbreak in terms of fresh fruit and vegetable exports as many competing countries such as Italy, Spain, and Portugal had to curtail their fresh produce production because of the outbreak.

As a result, Turkey's fresh fruit and vegetable exports have increased by 20% and reached 915 million USD. Fresh produce exports in May were 13% compared to the previous year and surpassed 159 million USD with an export volume of 244 kmt.

Turkey had exported 2.2 billion USD worth of fresh fruit and vegetables in 2019.
