Ethiopian Honey exporters struggle to succeed in the international honey market due to the high local demand for honey which resulted in a higher price. Exporters that source from local producers are buying the product at a higher price and this makes their selling price higher than their international competitors. In order to overcome this obstacle, some exporters are building honey processing facilities to process and export value-added honey products which will give them a price and competitive advantage in the international market.
