The local oyster from Mexico is mainly exported to the USA. The oysters face stiff competition in terms of price from the Canadian origin oysters. Thus, most suppliers of Mexico don't bother to supply to the northern parts of the USA and the Canadian market as they know that their product will not be able to compete with the Canadian origin oysters.
