Turkish exporters turn to airfreight deliveries amid logistics constraints caused by Covid-19

Due to coronavirus, a lot of borders are closed and more growers are using air freight to deliver their orders to export markets. The Mediterranean Exporters Association note that the use of air freight has more than doubled in the last month and has increased by 125%.

The legume, grain, and oilseeds exports from association members went up by 31% in the month of April and reached 121 million USD. Additionally, association members exported 60 million USD worth of fresh fruits and vegetables and 22 million USD worth of animal and fish products. The top agricultural and food export products were red lentils, tomato, pastry products, sugar, and frozen trout.
