Bulgarian saffron producers were in close negotiations with Chinese buyers, however, the global Covid-19 pandemic has shifted the plans and China won't be able to purchase the pre-agreed saffron quantities.
Although the saffron production in Bulgaria is tiny compared to Iran, the agreed quantities were 200 MT to be delivered in May but the plans were faced with disruptions and the Bulgarian saffron will wait its turn in the international trade once the pandemic situation is normalized.
