Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture calls on Bulgarian cherry processing companies to increase their sweet cherry purchases from growers by 30% and thus to increase their processing capacity in order to save the sweet cherry quantities from going to waste and to generate more exports from value-added sweet cherries, canned or frozen.
The ministry is urging to increase the purchases and promises to apply a support plan per each ton purchased additionally.
The official urge is coming from the ministry in anticipation of lower demand for fresh cherries from export markets. The ministry will decide and announce the form of support by the end of May.
