Very recently, the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture has facilitated the export of areca nuts from Jambi province to Thailand. The ministry assisted the local farmers in the province by providing health inspections, phytosanitary certifications, and shipments for around 40 MT of areca nuts. In Thailand, this commodity would later be used as the ingredient to make a wide variety of products such as medicines, foods, and cosmetics. In the province, areca nut is still among the top export products with the contribution of around 17% of the total agricultural products exported from this province.
