COVID19 outbreak and export restrictions have exposed Barbado's dependence on imported food products. This has motivated the government leaders to look into ways to increase domestic production to prevent this issue in the future. The head of the country's Agricultural Society has asked for more investment to be made on fruit and vegetable production and start marketing strategies which will encourage the local residents to consume products produced locally.
