The annual sweet cherry production yield in Tokat, Turkey is around 9 kmt and nearly 60% of the production is exported to Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Qatar.
The main varieties grown in the city are Lambert, Queen Anne, and Stella in addition to the domestic variety Ziraat 0900.
Reportedly there is some interest from China in Tokat sweet cherries as well and the growers are looking to start exporting to this country albeit at small volumes.
