Australian walnut growers are expecting a potential record harvest in the year ahead as drought conditions ease and overseas demand grows.
This season, the total harvest was more than 10,000 tonnes. The export market is now valued at an estimated $22 million, with only 55 commercial growers in Australia.
One supplier based in NSW accounts for around 90% of the country's walnuts production, with the rest of the growers made up mainly of smaller growers.
