As Indonesia is entering the final stage of the second quarter of 2020, data from the Ministry of Agriculture show that the export of agricultural commodities recorded a 12.66% growth, amid the coronavirus pandemic that has slowed down businesses in general. This percentage is a slight improvement from the record last year leading up to the half-year mark. Unlike last year where the export volume was mainly attributed to the strategic commodities such as crude palm oil and spices, two commodities that have contributed to the growth are chicken and duck fat, and palm kernel oil with the total contribution of 30% of the total export volume, with Japan and Hong Kong as the primary destinations for both commodities.
