Avocado accounts for 20% of Kenya's horticultural export, demand for the fruit constantly increasing in Europe

Avocado is Kenya's main export product in the fruit category, it gives almost 20% of the total horticultural export of the country. Commercial production of avocado began only 40 years ago in Kenya, however the production increased quickly due to the growing popularity of the fruit, creating an continuously growing demand for it in Europe and the US.
