States need to tuberculosis free to obtain cow milk certification

Cow milk certification in Mexico is done by the Ministry of Agriculture and the individual State Government. The authorization and certification to produce commercial cow milk are only issued to the states that have been declared as tuberculosis free. This drastically impacts the production capacity of the country as the majority of the central and southern states are victims of tuberculosis.
