The potential of export of palm kernel expeller to Japan

As a follow up on the interest by the Japanese buyers to source palm kernel expeller and empty palm fruit bunches that are wasted from the production of palm oil in Indonesia, the palm oil association of Indonesia is currently delivering the tender to the palm kernel expeller suppliers in Indonesia. The Japanese buyers stated their intention to source palm kernel expeller from Indonesia due to the fact that this product is available on a large number and due to the good economic cooperation between the two countries. In Japan, the palm kernel expeller will be utilized as the fuel for biomass-powered electric power plants in the country as a part of their effort to use a cleaner alternative to fossil-fuel. The first export is expected to happen in August 2020, pending the direct field visit by the buyers.
