Iraq falls short in rice, has only 190 KMT of availability

Iraq is left with only 190 KMT of rice according to the Trade Ministry and faces shortage to support the food program with food rations.
The country uses around 1-1.25 million tons of rice per year to support food rationing program.
The Trade Ministry of Iraq is reported to have applied for additional budgets from the state to support the sourcing of strategic wheat and rice supplies amid the Covid-19 circumstances in the country.
