Iran is one of the leading red meat consumers in the region. The country has produced 16% more quantities of red meat in the winter of 2019 compared to the same period year before. Beef and veal production was 49,6 KMT, lamb and mutton 36,3 KMT, goat meat 6,700 tons, and 2,300 tons red meat from various livestock. Iran still remains a major importer of red meat mainly from Brazil.
