Farmers of fresh fruit face huge losses due to coronavirus in Sao Paulo

Producer of fruits, specially persimmon, grape, peach and plums, that are in season in Sao Paulo at the moment, are only able to harvest 20% of their usual amounts, just to cover production costs due to huge decrease in demand in the biggest wholesale market in Sao Paulo. The substantial decrease of fresh fruit is due to coronavirus, where consumers have changed consuming habits of fresh fruits.
Farmers expects huge losses and difficult financial situation for the upcoming months.
