Despite the Covid19 problem, major Industries in Malaysia expect the local cocoa sector to reach an export volume of up to RM 6 billion by the end of 2020. This can be achieved primarily through the commercialization of cocoa-based research and development (R&D) products. Cocoa was one of the main raw materials in Malaysia in the 1990s but declined in the 2000s.
