Pepper prices have increased sharply in recent times reaching the highest at 2.6 USD / kg. Pepper prices in the whole focus area of the Central Highlands are between USD 2.25 - 2.37 / kg. The increase in the prices was seen temporarily. The higher supply in the market in comparison to the demand quicky mushed the prices down to normal levels. Major markets where pepper is exported like the USA had high volumes until December. Several businesses in China had enough pepper yield to resale products in the domestic market in order to increase their revenue.
