After the government decided to suspend the import duties for pulses, the government’s forecast for lentils is that the cost price of this staple will drop significantly. Thus, it could be established at 720DH/Ql. It should be noted that imports of lentils are subject to 20% VAT. In addition, most of them come from Canada.
For beans, the positive impact of the suspension of import duties should meanwhile improve the consumption of this locally produced material and thus strengthen the local suppliers' business, especially during the COVID-19 spread.
