According to the Italian Statistics Institute, Greek exports of farmed fish are in stagnation.
Despite the fact that Greece has a significant market share of farmed seabass and sea bream in Italy with over 50%, it seems that Greece has lost some of its market shares to Turkey and Croatia.
Greek seabass market share in Italy has decreased from 59.4% in 2017 to 59.1% in 2019, while exports from Turkey have increase by 14.8% from 2018 to 2019.
As for the sea bream, has lost its market share from 55.2% in 2017 to 53% in 2019 while Turkish and Croatian sea bream exports recorded an increase of 32% and 21% respectively.
