Amid the pandemic, Indonesian palm kernel expeller exports has increased in the second quarter of 2020

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the export of palm kernel expeller (PKE) from Indonesia has shown a positive growth so far in the second quarter of 2020. In the period of April to May 2020, the export of PKE has been recorded at 18 KMT, an 80% increase compared to the same period last year. The national PKE industry was able to expand the market destinations for its product, with recorded export to new countries in the Southeast Asian region such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar. In these countries, PKE is usually used as an ingredient to make an alternative animal feed, especially by beef and lamb industries.
